Built by Lord de Dunstanville Bassett, circa 1827 who owned most of Cornwall, after many flamboyant owners,it passed into the hands of a Captain Henry who made many changes to the house & garden , since then over many years had been sadly neglected, it has been our mission to recreate the garden and house which has taken us nearly 40 years and is now a joy to behold
We are just a short stroll to Portreaths beaches , pubs , harbour , restaurants, Surf shops, Mini market and Bakery, Portreath is a small friendly coastal village nestling in a valley surrounded by National Trust countryside with UNESCO world heritage status. It has an historic port, home to fishing and pleasure boats.
There are 2 sandy beaches, to the left of the harbour wall, you can while away the hours rock pooling, swimming, surfing or snoozing in the sun. To the right, a small sheltered beach with breakwater, ideal for children and inflatables.
